Lilja has played in a playbox from the beginning on.. it is a wooden playpen that is a little bigger than the american playpen. With two dogs around, she is safe from licks and paws, plus she loves playing in there as many of her favorite toys stay in there. Now she has figured out that she can pull herself up on the dowels..This might be the beginning of the end of the "baby jail"

Lilja is really trying to crawl. However her momentum is making her go backwards. She is trying everything.. rocking back and forth..

But still going the backwards way..

Aran came home early on Thursday and we all decided to go to Lemon reservoir again.. The poor dogs can't go with me when I walk caroline's dogs as it is way too hot for them to stay in the car when I work.. so swimming at Lemon is our plan B for our dogs.. lilja loves the water.. she gets so serious and just stares at the dogs going crazy..

What do I do with this thing?? I can shake this streamer better than any of the kids.. but I also like to eat it..

Playing peekaboo with the parachute.. this is really becoming Lilja's game.

The whole group with one little one missing.. ages 4 months to 1 1/2 years old.. The teachers are so amazing and the kids love to play.

Today I finally took my camera to the Tumbling Babies class of the Early Headstart School.. Lilja loves the kids and participates fully. We focus on large motor skills and attachment songs.. Today we played with balls, the parachute and shook the streamers to music. Lilja had a blast.

Lilja is in total Oranje gear.. The Netherlands colors for our soccor team.. Holland will be playing the World Cup at noon, join us to see them WIN!!!!

Lilja has been practising all day to crawl..she is putting her butt up in the air, but still going backwards.. however she seems so proud of herself. A lot of faceplants today though as she is trying to go forward from a sitting position.. but again after her fall, she just looks up and smiles.

Hopefully Father's Day went how Aran always wanted it to be.. we slept in a little, went for a long ride, took the dogs swimming at Lemon Reservior, had ice-cream in Durango, watched a bike race on TV.. and a big steak is waiting to be grilled.. Happy first Father's Day, Honey!!

I am so excited to start this blog, but it is definitely a daunting task. I follow a few blogs from our friends and family, and they are doing such an amazing job.

November 15th, 2009 was the day we took Lilja home. It became one of the the most amazing day of our lives.. this little girl with curly black hair and dark eyes captivated our hearts the moment we laid eyes on her.. Please join us in watching Lilja grow, smile or just making our day.. hopefully she will make yours too.
