Oma's visit

we went to stay at my friend's bed and breakfast on Monday. The China Clipper Inn. After all that work, it was nice just to relax and not do anything.. we went to dinner, drank some ....wine and Mom and I sat in the hottub for two hours talking with my friend Ingrid.. then we walked downtown Ouray until it started to downpour.. ofcourse, on the mornign we wanted to go swimming! but we ended up stopping in Silverton and saw the train to Lilja's delight.

right behind mom is our room, on the ground floor with a nice terrace.. what a wonderful place to stay..

W bought a travel bed for Lilja, and Ingrid's daughter Charlotte wanted to read some books to Lilja before bed. Lilja is so independent, it is nice for her to have a friend that takes the innitiative to play with her.. They were very sweet playmates.

On our way home, we saw the train in Silverton.

Lilja was crazy in the car, from singing to making funny sounds to telling stories.. she had us laughing all the way home.

A couple of days mom and Lilja went with me walking the dogs. it was beautiful weather besides the mosquitos..I love this picture, mom laughing and Lilja oh so serious.. 'walking oll by myself"

The river was cold, but this little spot is perfect for her to put her feet in.. Oma helped.

I realize this time I did not take a lot of photos of mom and Lilja.. this one sums up the relationship they have.. Being silly!!

Lilja's butterfly room.

Oma LOVES to do projects, and one of them was decorating Lilja's new area where she sleeps, so she has a true playroom on the other side. After three hours we decided on this little baby Pooh bear for on top of her bed. I did not want to de a real Pooh, as she might not like him in a month, so this guy was so cute and looks like a little baby bear.. with a red shirt on.. Yes, you are right it is Pooh.. Oma added the flower and I aslo did the butterfly.

baby Pooh sleeps right at her head.. Lilja loves him and wanted to get him a blanket.. she ended up putting a small stuffed animal next to him, so he also had a lovey.

these butterflies are around the room. we found them at Walmart and Lilja loved helping Oma make them while I painted Pooh. Those are the crystals hanging between the two rooms.

The end result. The icture does not do it justice, but it is so cute. Lilja really likes Pooh, the butterflies and the mobile hanging on the curtains..

Photo session

Every year we try to do professional photos with us and Lilja.. this time I wanted my mom included.. this one is a sneak peak of one of the photos of Lilja. Unfortunately the sneakpeak with my mom in it I can not copy.. so we have to wait for the real photos..  The photographer is adopting a little boy from Taiwan and is doing a fundraiser for her trip next month to go get him.. so the funds go directly to the trip.. wonderful, he??

Oma is here..

My mam, 'Oma" could not wait any longer and had to see Lilja eventhough we were there in March.. Both my mom and Dad will be here in september, so this is a treat for her.  Lilja and I went to get her from the airport and Lilja was so excited.. Lilja did get confused that she did not get to go on an airplane herself, so we told her it was Oma's turn..She really thought about that one..

First morning, waking up Oma.. Luckily Lilja slept in a little.

What does Oma do the first day with us?? make a canopy for Lilja's bed. We had talked about what my vision for that little room was , so mom ran with it and bought these beautiful curtains.. We bought rope, hooks and turned her bed sideways.. we are going to hang little butterflies everywhere.. i think it even turned out cuter that i thought it would be.. Lilja calls it her crystal kingdom.. those crystals hang in her doorway, I bought them in Hayward.. Everything is just coming together.

Lilja just loves her bed.. JT came over and he asked if I could make one for him..

I had to take care of JT for the morning, and because my mom was here I jsut brought him over to my house. This pool is also from Oma and both kiddos loved playing with it. 

The first thing Lilja ahd notice about my mom was her beautiful painted fingernails, so we promised we would do that to her nails to.. She got them done my a babysiteer a couple of years ago.. so this is probably the first time she will remember getting her nails painted.. she sat so sit.. and loved that they are sparkely.b

Oma did her toes and her nails!! Thanks Oma.. she is getting soooo big!!

One day was a typical rain day.. what do we do as a family and with tow little kids?? Let's go bowling!!

Lilja was rooting for everybody.. she was soooo excited..

The gutterguards kept it fun and successful.. Lilja did really good.. Tae even beat me!!

The ball always went oh so slow, but she did really good with her aim.

Still raining outside, so let's play BINGO.

Lilja must have gotten bingo may times, because she kept saying it..

The sun came out and the kids wanted to just play by themselves.. An eggbeater, soap and water did the trick.

We celebrated Grandpa's father's day one day early and bought him the book.. "What to do when you babysit grandpas"..So garndpa read it to the kids. Tae thought it was very funny.

Lilja was very excited to go back on a vliegtuig (airplane) She is such a great traveler.. We just let her run, run, run...

We had such a great time in Minnesota with all the family around.So glad that the kids enjoyed playing together and that we had so much fun..Thank you for the fun time!! see you soon!

PIZZA!! the Johnson way!!

In Winona Bruce and Margaret have a true pizza oven.. In Hayward they have a home made pizza oven that makes the best pizzas.. The best ingredient is the pounding of the fists of the kids..

The difference between boys and girls is so apparent here.. watch Lilja poke the dough and Tae going to town..

Oh yes, she got it!!  i love the experiences these two get out here at the cabin..and they are so into it!! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for such a great time!! Lilja is still talking about her bed , bowling and the pizza.

The Cabin on Indian Lake

After Winona, we went to the cabin on Indian Lake in Wisconsin. This cabin has been in Aran 's family for years and can accomodate many, many people, especially after the renovation on the little cabin next door. The charm is the real old feeling and all the antiques that Margaret and Bruce  chose for the cabin.. I had bought a blow-up bed for Lilja to travel with, but the minute she saw this bunk bed she was hooked....

I think Aran can sit out there forever. he got to fish with his brother and his dad a couple of time and loved it.. we even had some trout for dinner..

Cousin Tae. he is 4 and really was wonderful with Lilja.. her adoring glanses and hugs sometimes got him flustered but he tolerated them ;)

The kids and daddies fishing. tae was the master in catching fish and even Lilja got a couple of them. Perfect spot for new fishermen.

yeah, Lilja got one.. catch him in the net.. Do you see the fish.. right there behind the net.. pretty little but still a fish!! We were joking that we mmight have caught a couple of fish multiple times.. Can you imagine the fish's thoughts?? Oh no not again!!

Grandma is an avid reader and loves to instil reading in he kids.. her story tellingare the best..

Lilja even got to go out on the lake with Tae and his mommy margaret.. She liked it for a while, then she said.. All done! I think next year she will be all over that one..
