valentine's day, Delta and Maddie!

Lilja's favorite holiday?? not her birthday.. not x-mas.. but Valentine's day.. Aran's worst nightmare ;) But momma was delighted.. finally someone who will celebrate it with me. :) so we had a little valentine's party. Lilja talked about it for three months.. wow!! it was finally here. She chose two little friends to come (plus Jt but he was in school) and their little sisters and they made picture frames.

Lilja HAD t wear her holiday dress, and she chose all the decorations. she has great taste.. Right now her favorite colors are red and bright pink!! she does not want to be a blue girl any more.. I can't keep up.. and her wardrobe neither..

Maddie is up front, Kara to the left and Baby Kate in the back and Lilja. They all got a Balloon to take home and the picture frames. it was a very successful party.. Four girls is a perfect number!!

This weekend we went to see Matt. Jacci, Ale and Eleanor in Delta. I have been under the weather for the last month it seems and it ended up being bronchitis and the trip was almost canceled.. but we plugged along. The Dares are great hsts and accommodated our request of separate quarters.. and ofcourse a fun night out!! While the boys went riding their bkes, the girls all went to Bananas, a jumpy/slide kind of place. So fun!!! they had a blast

but there is still a fear of moving, talking objects.. Jacci put a quarter in it and did not ask Lilja if she wanted to move... well, this was the look and she stayed that way for the ride..

the girls were such a great playmates. they all were so sweet together and had a great time.. Thanks Dares, for a great time.. again!!!

Yesterday Maddie, Lilja's best friend,  went with us to walk the doggies.. and it was a blast. Sometimes, it does feel like work, but when we bring this little girl along , it is a whole different story.. Maddie,  you can come with us any time!!

Like birdies

this week

Kind of under the weather this week, all the kids are sick at the schools and it finally got me:( so sorry about this short blog. The weather here has been beautiful, but we would love some snow.. it is already starting to melt the snow.. so mud fest!!! Lilja's favorite past time..

we had a little cold front hit us while we were walking doggies, so Lilja was cold.. this is how we ran to the house.. a little selfie of Lilja and myself.

Yep, Lilja will find every puddle, the bigger the better!! resorted to a wire push card that might hold up better during this weather..

always smiling.. and this card was hard to push, but she kept plugging along..

we got new carpet in the house as you know and the walls, but because of the color of the carpet our paint on the walls turned pnk.. so finally after many colors we found a almost white with not a hint of red in the color.. it is pretty white, but we kept the two dark walls dark and it looks so nice and clean . Love it.. Lilja's quiet time was over and I still had some painting to do, so she joined me..

she did a great job!! and it was her favorite thing of the day.. painting with momma. Thanks girlie girl.. you are a great painting partner!.

Lilja and I had a stay home day on Friday so we decided to make some cupcakes for Daddy's belated birthday ( I was sick last week with the stomach flu) This is Lilja's first time using the blender. She has always been scared of loud noises, and this one is an ancient one , but she did great...

she took the task very seriously, but the counter did not look like that when she was done

that night we ended up going to Chavalo's for his belated birthday.. Usually Aran can choose, but there was a snowstorm, so going to Durango was out of the question. Lilja decided on this restaurant.

they do a great job making yu feel festive. One of the waiters went to town with aran's whipcream on his face.. Lilja was not impressed by that.

What do you do on a snowstorm day?? You make a house out of the new car seat box. Lilja is getting bigger and she is ready for the last car seat. this one has a harness and you can use the real seat belt when she is over 40 pounds.. that will still take a while I think..

even Maggie joined in on the fun. Some how Maggie did not like one of the monkeys to be inside the house and took it out each time.. too funny!

Today the decorating is done, and the house comes to each room with her. Millie,the pink cat and sweetheart, a little brown monkey are now co-habituating in the house..
