fairy houses

Lilja and I have been pretty sick the last couple of weeks. First RSV and then Bronchitis, poor thing, I have not seen her that sick for a long time.. On top of that we had to house sit and in a construction zone.. so this week was definitely pretty challenging.. When we started feeling a little better we ventuered outside for a little adventure.. looking for fairy houses


Caroline has two little fairy houses in front of her house and Lilja played with it the whole time we were there.. anything little and Lilja loves it.. I think we will get a little house for our house too.

so we went on third avenue and looked for little fairy hoses.. we found six of them.. this was my favorite.. shhht, be still can you see her??



Feeling a lot better, we took daddy out for a celebration of life party . Aran's grandma passed away last week..



and where did we go?? East by Southwest!!lilja's favorite... sushi!! 



we went all out and Lilja even got the famous dessert.. cotton candy.. How much sugar is in a cotton candy ball... well, let's just say we went to Caroline's house to stay there over night, swam in the hottub and Lilja did not go to bed till 8... that's how much!!

Alphabet soup

Made the best chicken soup according to my husband.. Lilja has been sick with RSV ( a virus that acts like a big cold, but gets very mucusy in her lungs) so Lilja and I have been cooped up at home the last four days with lots of chicken soup.. How shall we make the third day of chicken soup fun?? add some alphabet pasta.. see for yourself!!

last week

The family we take care of , house, the dogs and JT, is renovating their house and are staying in Durango. So walking at the ranch is out for the next four months. What is fun though is all the new hikes Lilja and I are doing. I lived in Durango for 10 years, so it is my old stomping grounds, plus I used to run all these trails each day. So fun to walk them with Lilja now, and she is loving it..

Bruket trail, this is the trail on the ther side of the big mountain we hiked last week. This time, Lilja found a walking stick that made her walk, far, far away!!

Aran was gone for 4 days visiting his grandmother, who is not very well at all. Lilja and I had a full weekend, but she definitely missed her daddy!!

Her daddy!! she would not leave him alone, and he was sooo tired!

Lilja's first swimming lesson. I asked Maddie to join us, because I thought Lilja would love some support. The teacher said, she loved the pairing with Maddie's no fear attitude and Lilja's timidness.. she complemented eachother!

Oh my, we did the photos for the cutest kid contest here in Durango.. Lilja this time was the little star of the day apparently. She directed the whole photo shoot, told the photographer what color back ground she wanted and how she wanted to pose. she even chose the photo that we will enter in the contest, the one with her hand on her cheek. Lilja told me she had so much fun , she wants to do it again!! Oh my , I wish we lived in a bigger city, she would have an agency already!! Hopefully you can open these. there are only 5 right now, not sure why, because many were made. These were our favorites though. we have not done a lot these last couple of weeks. I was sick... yes still! and then had to get two teeth pulled, with lots of pain and down time. Lilja has been such a trooper and such a wonderful helper.
