The water slide

busy week!!

Lilja and I have had a pretty busy week. The family that I take care of and their dogs have a very sick doggie.. lucios the young aussie. Caroline left for Santa fe to a specialty vet and Lilja and I took care of JT for a while. We did lots of fun stuff!!! It is interesting to have another child around for an extended period of time, and Lilja and JT are really good buddies. You definitely see the difference of pay between boys and girls. ( I can go in an discussion about the difference of behavior that is acceptable early on in boys and girls and how that affects their play) but I will spare you the lecture :)) I am grateful for this time with JT as I sometimes have that feeling of adopting a second one..and then we say goodbye to JT and it is quiet at the house... and then I do not have that feeling again for a long time :)) The pictures again are random.. Blogger has changed again and I need to get used to it so the descriptions are under the pictures.

we got a balancing board for Lilja as one of her developments that is a little off is her balance.. she loves to try it and it is good for us too.

JT was in a golf camp and loved showing off for Lilja.. Lilja had her own try, but I guess golf is not her thing. :)

Hmmm, the next Tiger Woods.. Oh yes, he is that good!!

My friend Barb was in town and we visited her new house. Lilja loved all the sunflowers that were blooming everywhere.

I don't even have to comment on this one...

sleepover at JT's house in the guest room.. Yes, we had to all sleep together.. Guess who was out in 2 minutes?? JT!! Lilja was up for another hour... so excited!!

last week

we are calming down after all that traveling and guests.. but not for long.. this week, Lilja and I had a momma/daughter time at the children's museum, and we played in our little pool in the garden..

met daddy for lunch one day.. always on his shoulders.luckily for her she is stll a peanut!.

this was a new display at the children's museum..there is magnetic fluid in the water in the pipe and you can mamipulate it with the magnetic sticks. Lilja and I played with them for about 30 minutes.. sooo cool, even for mommies..

Lilja wanted me to make her a castle, but Daddy does it better apparently.. so mine luckily turned out to be a train.. somehow...

Happy 4th of July!!!

We had the Dares at the House for the 4th of July celebrations.. We had an amazing cheesecake, made by Jacci, saw our little Bayfield parade, played at the river , had a wonderful barbeque and saw the best fireworks EVER!!! (let's say second to the cabin fireworks)It was a busy weekend , but the girls played and played and are all ready to have some quiet time.

Lilja and Alice loved playing dress-up. I am expecting lots of dress-up play in the near future!!

we took the girls to the river and they had a blast. I did not take many photos on my camera because Lilja and I  went down the river and you have seen these photos before... except.. wow she is getting big!!.

the water was surprisingly cold. but the girls were really brave and I was impressed how long we stayed at and in the river.. p.s it was FREEEZING!!

4th of July!! this year the town of Bayfield after two years finally got to do some fireworks, and they showed all other towns up!! The fireworks were amazing.. I did not even get to take photos of it, as Lilja was on my lap shouting and shaking with excitement. So fun to see it through her eyes!!

4th of July Parade!! it was pretty hot, but Lilja held out and loved the couple of candies that came her way. Lilja dressed herself and even dressed me.. I had a red shirt on , white tank top and blue capris.. then Lilja was satisfied! .

Daddy also got decorated!!

We have a new little business in town.. Lydia's sweet shoppe.. and she makes home-made cotton candy.. What is Lilja's favorite candy.. yep.. you guessed it!!

 

The weekend before 4th of July we had Charlotte ( the daughter of my dutch friends who own the china clipper inn in Ouray)  over for the weekend. Lilja's first sleepover.. It went wonderful besides the "why is charlotte sleeping in my room, it's too loud"This picture is the morning we picked up charlotte and we had just driven to Silverton.. some coffee (!) for mom and hot chocolate for the girls.

and rode their bikes. We had to make Lilja's saddle a little higher this time..

and ofcourse Lilja had to show her how to paint rocks. They are becoming great friends.
