Wow, so much snow. It pretty much snowed all day!! We even had to snow blow twice !! So much snow that we could not get out to go to the hill lilja and I were at yesterday, so we made our own. This time daddy helped. He seems to be the hill expert.we'll see if there is another snow day tomorrow.

Our second snow day !! This time they let us know early as there was about 12 inches on the ground . Lilja slept till 8 , first day ever, must have been all that sledding. We had breakfast and then helped daddy. It is still snowing and might be a snow day tommorrow too. This afternoon we'll try and go sledding again.. here's yeah to winter !!

Finally some snow and it is still dumping. However it is very wet snow and we think it might not last long.. we will let you know if it becomes a snow day !!

Ofcourse lilja is out there while it is dumping snow. 

Lilja and I ended up going to the big hill in the afternoon. It was still snowing but not very cold. This is what happens when you do not have a track made yet.. the sled is under the snow !!

last week

Wow, we have been so busy..so sorry that it has taken so long for this update . Besides work, school and walking barney, we went to delta to visit our friend Matt, Jacci, and their girls Eleanor and alice for valentine's day. Our joke is that that is our annual date night !! We had so much fun , just relaxing while the girls just played together. They moved to a new place where lilja biked around the neighborhood, climbed a tree house and just had fun. Lots more photos are added from this whole week. Enjoy!!

We had a great walk up the mountain again today, notice no jacket !! Yep, our winter is gone :(

We try at least to do one outside family activity each weekend. We discovered the river trail in dgo is very good for lilja to bike on.. so it is becoming an almost daily occurrence .. goal is no training wheels by the beginning of summer ..we'll see .

I w is he'd we lived in a neighborhood where lilja could bike with h er friends..but then I sit outside and see my view. However, it was still cute to see her really getting into biking .

Lilja "inherited" some of great grandma's jewelry. I wish I would have had the video on earlier, because she was so in awe of all of it.

valentine's day parties

Today was a very exciting and fun day filled with lots of fun and surprises. This morning I got to help out in the classroom having the children decorate our cookies. And because I had the day off, I stayed for the food matters class in which lilja learned about fruits and vegetables . So fun to see her so engaged during those teachable moments. After school we ended up having a little tea party at a little girls house with a big trampoline. Needless to say, there was a big meltdown in the car.. school, no nap at school , sugar and a trampoline just do not mix ... lesson learned. Next year, race home as soon as possible and put her in bed by 4 ;))
however, when we came home a big box was waiting to be opened fir lilja. The cutest fluffier and Pinkest  jacket and hat were opened up , put on and modeled. Then the jewelry box of great grandma appeared, and lilja and I sat there and went through all the jewelry.. necklaces, brooches, earings..lilja was loving it . This present is so special, because lilja always seemed to love Helen ' s jewelry. We have several photos of different year of them with lilja looking at her necklace, so cute !! Thank you grandma for passing on the love of jewelry to lilja !!

Ofcourse lilja was allowed to sit next to me and decorate the first cookie. That is violet, one of her little friends next to her . I would love to have them be better friends but they are both pretty shy.  

Valentine's day party !!

Going to a valentine's day party at lilja's school today . I am so lucky my work is so flexible and my boss so understanding that I can still experience these fun days with lilja . Heart shaped cookies made with lilja ..check..pink shirt...check..lilja all dressed up...check...lilja all excited for her momma to come to her party ...priceless

the eye doctor !!

So lilja had her annual check up last week. When we walked in she made sure to tell Dr Kelly that she did not need shots, lucky for Dr Kelly she was all up to date. This year they did a vision check and after checking her said that she had 20/40 vision. Nothing to be concerned about till the fall . Well, you guys know us and we are not going to wait around till the Fall with a concern over our head. Luckily we saw our friend Joanne ( lillibeth's mom) this weekend and she is an optometrist. So lilja had her first big check-up. She did great !! She has 20/25 which is perfect for a 5 year old . She does have a little stigmatisme but nothing to worry about. And I trust joanne completely saying that . No glasses for her and then I even got a check up. Also perfect except some reading glasses . Hmmm, not that pretty :((

It was a very thorough visit and pretty long, lilja did great and was very patient. 

She was peeking every time, so we had to make sure she covered her eye
