Getting ready for holland !!

Lilja and I are are leaving for holland on tuesday.. so excited!! After a couple of snags, we finally confirmed that we can go !! Lilja and I had to get prettied up... sparkly nails and a little pampering . Lilja just loves it.. I feel we should start young to show her that taking care of yourself is very rewarding .

Lilja's graduation !!

Well, lilja graduated from preschool . Where did the time go !! She sang some songs and then got a diploma for completing preschool . I am so grateful to ms penny and ms danielle, they were amazing teachers that loved lilja and guided her through her anxieties and wirries. Lilja has blossomed into a very bright and very social little girl . She got everything out of preschool that I wished for and then dome. Niw it is on to kindergarten.. we did our orientation, let's just say, it is a whole different story !!

playdate with violet

Violet is one of lilja's classmates and her mom called us to see if she could come and play. They are moving and were closing on their house. Ofcourse I said, as violet is one of my favorite kids in my tumbling tots class . She is very sweet , respectful and always smiling !! Lilja and violet played non stop for 5 hours !! After playing dress up with the pets, tea time with some apple juice and playing with the kenetic sand.. violet was starting to jump on the couch.. hmmm, not in this house !!it had been raining outside, but the skies knew the kids needed some outside time and it cleared up for the last hour of the playdate. In rainboots and umbrellas they played on the swings and then...it was quiet... so time to check on them.. well lilja had climbed a tree.. she was not very high, but high enough for me to look at aran and say... this one is for you... and I stood behind the window biting my nails as she kept climbing.. and aran kept helping her.. she did it.. all by herself.. except coming down was a different story.. no worries, she just needed some help ;))

We love the kenetic sand.. always a hit with her friends. It is a mixture between sand and playdoh.. very cool.

Lilja and rachel have become best of friends this last year . Lately we have started to trade some playdates, so today I called rachel 's mom and took them fir icecream and the playgriund. This is their last week of school so let's go out with a bang.

Lilja is definitely a daughter of a biologist. She found a raccoon tail on the road and brought it to school for show and tell !! Yep, I let her... Aran was so proud .....of me ;))

Lilja is asking to learn how to tap dance..and git some shies from a friend of ours. I thought it would pass, but after seeing a dance show this weekend with tsodancers, she wants to tap dance more than ever. I actually think she has a nack for it. What do yiu think ?

Remember that cat on the kindle.. well if you poke it's head it falls backwards and then jumps back up while sticking out its tongue ... lilja thought it was so funny that the cat was sticking out its tongue to me, that the giggles started... in dutch we call it de slappe laugh.."bent over laugh... I had to document that moment with tears of laughs g in my eyes !!

almost no training wheels..almost !!

Today lilja practiced riding her bike without training wheels . She is almost there..kind of fearful..but very determined ..especially determined to make her parents run run and run.. I remember a video of my dad running beside me riding fir the first time. I laugh just thinking about the moment it really is going to happen.. she is so vkose, but still needs to realize she has to keep pedaling to keep her balance . We visited our neighbor Jean's gravestone also .. I love walking there, so peaceful and beautiful .

We picked a bouquet for jt as he had a big recital that night .. lilja worked hard on finding the prettiest flowers just for him..

It was pretty hot outside, what better way to cool off than a sprinkler!!

Lilja has been reading little books for the last half year. She is getting better and better. So fun to see her really ready a book. Right now we are reading the Dr Seuss books. This one is the foot book
