last week

Lilja and I have been house sitting for the last week. That's why the last couple of posts did not have a lot of stories with it ( figured it out on my phone) But today we came home and we can get updated on our adventures. We ended up at Robin's house for thanksgiving . Robin is my boss and great friend for the last 15 years. Every June she will ask us to come for Thanksgiving.. She calls it the "homeless" thanksgiving.. But I told her this year, she can't call it that anymore, as we all know in June where we are going ;)33 people showed up and there was so much food. i made a turkey, stuffing and two pies!! Oh yes, it was yummy!!Lilja loves Robin and those two together get in a lot of trouble. Black Friday we went to see FROZEN, the disney movie all three of us. It was so cute!! a little scary, but Lilja figured out she can sit between the seat and the backrest and hid a little when it gets scary.. I think it is one of my favorites!! Today we decorated a little around the house. We are waiting with the big tree until Aram's parents are here in a week, It is turning into a yearly tradition to find a tree with them here. Lilja has been so ecited for this coming x-mas. So cute... can't wait to show you more photos of her excitement

Uhhhmmm, I told you about those two getting in trouble.. yep.. she must have had 5 of those!!

wow!!! can you imagine her sugar rush.. it formed in the way of shouting 'Happy Thanksgiving" in the room  of 33 people, and the guests answered back.. she must have shouted that 15 times!!! wish I had that on camera.

Dear family and friends , thanksgiving day is the day of giving thanks . But I hope all of you know how thankful we are every day for your support and your love for us. We love watching Lilja's relationships grow with you. Thank you for your time, travels, hugs and smiles . We are so lucky to have all of you around us , bringing up this fantastic little girl. Far away or down the road , family , birth parents , birth family and friends , we can't do it without you ! For that we are thankful!!

last week

We have been quite the buzy bees this last week. but most had to do with work, work, work.. luckily we got some fun time in there too.

Baby Kate was sick, so we took Maddie, Lilja's best friend on a little walk with the doggies dwon to the river... Lilja is saying" there is Rosie" .. the only brown cow in the pasture.

this picture is from yesterday .. Lilja got the bug that was going around.. 102.6 fever!! and slept pretty much all day. We went to the doctor to make sure she did not have strep or something.. (don't have the results yet) but she walked in the office explaining to everyone that she was NOT getting a shot.. laughter followed us down the hall. She is feeling a little better today, just watching movies and laying on the couch.. we will probably go for a walk with the dogs, just to get some air..but then back to hanging around.. hopefully tommorrow she will be the old, silly, happy go lucky girl.. Don't like seeing her like this ;(

Veterans day!!

On veterans day we went downtown Durango and supported all the veterans in the parade. JT did not really want to go but after talking about his grandpa being in the war, and talking about how important it is to support his past, JT thought it was cool.. so Lilja and JT clapped and shouted "thank you for your service " to all the veterans.. There was even a soldier from WWII wow!! oxygen and all, waving away.. I always get emotional when I see this parade..then we went biking at the BMX track.. Lilja is a little more timid this time, I think she still thinks a little bit about a little fall she ahd when she got the bike.. but we'll just practise and practise!!

Halloween!!! Meow!!

I can finally sit down and put some more pictures on the blog.. Aran has been gone hunting with his brother and father in Minnesota and it has just been Lilja and i at the house.. We changed her room around AGAIN and did lots of fun stuff.. we watched the veterans parade and played with JT.. pfffew i am tired just looking back at the weekend :)

Lilja wanted to be a kitty kat for halloween.. and to be specific a "twirly sparkily kitty kat...a pink!! Luckily my mom was here for Halloween and she is an amazing seemstress, so she helped make the costume.. Lilja's costume was voted the cutest costume by my friends ..  

so the funniest story is that our first trick-or treating adventure was down town Bayfield and we had forgotten her tail (oops, bad momma!) so when every one said to her how cute she looked, she would show her bum and say " but we forgot my tail"  we laughed so hard.. 

Last year she was pretty timid, but this year she was all into it.. when people would say "trick!" she would attempt a cardwheel.. Oh yes, I have a little performer on my hands

collecting pinecones with Oma. she is an amazing artisit and always has great ideas for decorations. This one involved a wreath and pinecones. Lilja loved finding lots of thm.

Lilja and I collect heart -shaped rocks. We bought a book called.. "I love you when" in which the pictures are all different shaped rocks that are painted different ways.. How hard is it to find a heart-shaped rock.. try it... and then give it to us!!

My parents were lucky that we had a little snow one day.. Lilja's new coat kept her warm, and the umbrella... well, that just looked cute.
