Opa and Oma's visit

Opa and Oma are on the plane back to Holland.. Last night Lilja got a little sad and wanted to snuggle.. she said.. Momma I am sad but my tears won't come out.. can you stay with me for a little while. So sad to see my daughter go through these emotions.. So hard to be so far away from family.. Believe me it does not get easier...Looking back at the weeks, it was so much fun.. we got spoiled, snuggled and laughed so hard at things Lilja did and said. Just plain fun with Oma and Opa around..These photos are pretty random, sorry I have so many of these two weeks..  


My mom wanted to make some speculaas (dutch cookies) with Lilja.. But we just did not have time, so Lilja and I made them today.. love Lilja's version of the the final result

 

 

We went to the Children's museum for our last day with Oma and Opa.. they have some new exhibits, one of them is this bowl in the fish tank.. very cool. Do you see Oma and Lilja swimming amongst the fishies??

Halloween!!! Lilja wanted to be a Koala.. I think we succeeded.. look Momma my shadow is a Koala too!!

Jack got jealous when Lilja got home with all the candy, we caught him trying to sneak out of the house like this!!

After the first round of trick-or-treating.. Lilja got all her birthday balloons down and went crazy!!!

In my family we have a tradition of chosing your birthday dinner.. Lilja chose crab!!! and crab it was.. we invited our neighbor Ted also as it was his birthday too. the best birthday dinner ever!! 

We tok cupcakes to school and sang for Lilja on her birthday.. she was so shy, for just one minute..

On her real birthday, Lilja woke up to a room all decorated!!
